At Gardening for Good, we support the American Community Garden Association’s broad and inclusive definition of a community garden as any piece of land gardened by a group of people. We believe the core aspect of a community garden is civic engagement, or more plainly, the people. Although gardens are composed of a variety of vegetables, fruits, herbs and flowers, community gardens come to life through the tender love and care of their garden members. For this reason, we seek to include and celebrate the many types and varieties of community gardens available in Greenville County.
The map above displays the more than 70 identified community gardens in Greenville County. Each of these gardens is classified according to the type of community who tends the garden (see legend below). For more information on the individual gardens, explore the tabs under Area Gardens. If your garden is not yet on the map, please e-mail info@ggardeningforgood.com and let us know about your community garden. This is a constantly growing movement and network of gardens in Greenville and we are excited to share in your garden efforts.
